The journal Applied Linguistics is an electronic journal launched in 2012. The founder of the journal is the Lithuanian Association of Applied Linguistics (LITAKA). The editor-in-chief of the journal is Meilutė Ramonienė (since 2018). From 2012 to 2018, the editor-in-chief was Inesa Šeškauskienė.

The journal publishes articles in applied linguistics, both theoretical and based on empirical data, in Lithuanian, English, French, Russian, and German. It also features reviews of books and articles on applied linguistics, academic essays, and overviews of scholarly books. All submissions are anonymously reviewed by at least two referees. The journal is indexed in the CEEOL and ERIH PLUS databases.

The electronic journal’s website, www.taikomojikalbotyra.lt, uses the Open Journal Systems platform, which enables the interactive organization and management of all stages of publishing scientific e-journals: submission, editing, peer review, publication, and indexing.
